Dmitry Medvedev had a meeting with Australian Prime Minister

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev had a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.

The meeting was the first of Mr Medvedev’s planned talks with foreign leaders in London during the G20 summit.

Mr Medvedev and Mr Rudd discussed cooperation between Russia and Australia in various areas and examined ways to build up trade and economic ties.

Overcoming the global financial and economic crisis was also one of the subjects on the agenda.

In the run-up to the summit, Mr Medvedev will also meet with U.S. President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and Chinese President Hu Jintao.
