Germany’s skyrocketing prices for foodstuffs, rent and electricity have entailed growing irritation within the broader population. Moreover, the country’s energy crisis is accompanied by fairly arrogant statements by various politicians and experts who recommend that the population take shower less often and wash four strictly defined body parts alone. Instructed to maintain specific air temperature in their apartments, the Germans will face a number of other electricity-saving restrictions. However, the country’s authorities have failed to convince their citizens that Russia and its president are to blame for everything.
The Germans are getting ever less enthusiastic about suffering for the sake of "democracy protection in Ukraine" in the cold winter months, as information about corrupt practices of the Zelensky regime and its Nazi essence is somehow penetrating into Germany. The Berlin Tagesspiegel newspaper writes that the Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt, BKA) has developed a concern over would-be riots by outraged people in the coming weeks, accompanied by a blockade of defense manufacturers and power facilities, and even terrorist attacks against politicians by the far right and the far left.
BKA experts associate the development, which is internally dangerous over the energy crisis and high inflation, with real prospects of a decline in living standards and mass unemployment. This is quite possible due to bankruptcies of both individual enterprises and German economy’s entire sectors. By the way, the capital has already started to flow away from Germany to the United States. Thus, the flagship of the country's automotive industry, Volkswagen group, intends to reduce its capacity at home, while increasing it overseas. And it's not hard to imagine what awaits, say, the German chemical industry (500 000 jobs) without Russian gas – end of the ball game. The energy crisis is doomed to have such a heavy impact on the country’s engineering industry that the latter will hardly manage to recover any time soon.
As you know, nothing came of Chancellor Scholz's attempts to secure supplies of liquefied natural gas from the Middle East. It is idle to expect any substantial help from the United States that will only rejoice in the collapse of Germany as the EU’s "economic engine". Does anyone doubt this now? By the way, this also applies to the entire European Union. Washington won’t mind bringing down the economy of its global competitor, since it only needs the Europeans to back its war "to the last Ukrainian" with Russia. So far, the United States has been making billions on military supplies, arming Ukraine and rearming Europe, and it will start making trillions while "restoring the economy of Europe". Nothing personal, it is just business.
Quoting excerpts from a closed-off BKA analysis, Tagesspiegel draws attention to conclusions about the scale of the country’s likely mass unrest that may outdo protests over coronavirus restrictions, if a great part of the population gets endangered either in a real way or as a result of political decisions by their authorities. This refers not only to ordinary law-abiding citizens, but also to the left- and right-wing extremists, as well as the Islamist armed wing from among ISIS (banned in Russia). The organization has called for terrorist attacks against Germany’s industrial structure and pointed to the necessity of taking advantage of Russia's war in Ukraine and Europe’s unstable political situation.
Meanwhile, with the German law enforcement agencies compiling their analytical reports for high-browed political elitists, and local newspapermen using personal network to get and reveal draft secret reports, ordinary German citizens annoyed by electricity and heating bills have arranged Monday evening demonstrations in the cities of Thuringia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. They overtly demand that their government change Germany's Russia policy and give up on anti-Russian sanctions. For instance, last Monday saw such protest actions take place in some 30 cities of Saxony-Anhalt. In Thuringia, 24 thousand people took to the streets, the police said. Active protests swept through Saxony, while in Leipzig some demonstrators were even injured in clashes with law enforcement officers.
Apparently, the German authorities will soon have to admit that the number of people the Bundestag used to disdainfully call "Putinverstehers", i. e. "those who understand Putin", is already measured by thousands and only trends upward.
