US-Led Coalition Try To Save Terrorists in Douma

Western countries believe in unfounded allegations against Damascus...

Donald Trump said he will decide within the next 24 to 48 hours whether to launch a military reprisal against Bashar al-Assad’s forces, adding that he had “not much doubt” about who was behind the poison gas attack in Douma. However, only a week ago the US president announced the withdrawal of American troops from Syria. Thus, a false chemical attack on Douma provides Mr. Trump the opportunity to prolong the Syrian conflict and to increase pressure on Damascus and its allies. Washington is not going to destroy one of the last seats of terrorism in Syria and settle the crisis.

Russia recently warned on such dangerous provocations, but Western countries choose to believe the reports of the notorious White Helmets, which have been proved more than once to be working along with the terrorists, and other pseudo-humanitarian organizations headquartered in the UK and the US.

White Helmets provided no evidence of a chemical attack on Douma, as usual, and they spread rumors and mere allegations that have no foundation in fact. Social media users even noticed that they used photos of the same girl, a so-called ‘victim’ of clearly fabricated chemical attacks in Idlib in 2017, in Eastern Ghouta in January 2018 and in Douma on April 7, 2018.

According to political analysts, Damascus has no reason to use chemical weapon as terrorists have realized they’ve lost the battle in Eastern Ghouta and have already agreed to leave the region within 48 hours. So, the radical opposition groups and their sponsors benefit from the incident in Douma, as Damascus vowed the allegations had been unfounded, made by terrorists to halt the government forces’ advances.

Moreover, Saif al-Deen Hobiya, a member of the Red Crescent, said that the Syrian medical specialists have found no sign of chemical weapons used in Douma on April 7. "I have spent seven years working at the central hospital in Douma. At some point, our [hospital] received six people, who were allegedly suffering from respiratory problems. Following a medical examination, we did not find any problems at all, any traces of chemical agents," Saif al-Deen Hobiya, a member of the Red Crescent, said. Recalling the events that took place in January, he noted that they had "no evidence of chemical agents being used in the area."

Consequently, the reports of fabricated chemical attack in Syria is a part of disinformation campaign against Damascus and its allies aimed at covering up terrorists and justifying military action by the US-led coalition. All the allegations on the use of chemical weapons by Syrian forces are based on hearsay and testimonies by terrorists, and has never been backed up by verified facts.

A Syrian Defense Ministry source said, "every time the Syrian Arab Army advances in the fight against terrorism, allegations of chemical use are used as an excuse to prolong the life of terrorists in Douma."
