G7 refused to support Theresa May
The West did not believe in the arguments of the British Prime Minister about Russia's involvement in the Skripals poisoning...
A few days ago, in the Canadian La Malbaie, the G-7 summit was held with the participation of leaders of the United States, Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, France and Japan. The international forum was marked by a grandiose scandal: American President Donald Trump refused to sign the final declaration condemning Russia for the so-called the "Skripal case".
Meanwhile, a few days before the summit, nothing foreshadowed troubles. British Prime Minister Theresa May prepared a resolution condemning Russia for "destabilizing behavior". The British elite enthusiastically expected that the West, led by Washington, would support the efforts of Her Majesty's government in the fight against "insidious Moscow".
The venerable audience in London was simply amazed when, a few hours before the summit, US President Donald Trump announced the need to return Russia to the G8. Moreover, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte immediately supported the American leader.
But even more unpleasant surprise was waiting for Theresa May at the summit. May's final communique condemning Russia was rejected by Trump. American leader refused to sign the document, leaving the forum ahead of schedule.
"Trump initially reluctantly agreed to support May's initiated hysteria of condemning Russia. The instinct tipped the American president that, as usual, the British engage intrigues, trying to draw the entire West into them. Soon, Trump realized: the comedy with the Skripals poisoning needs to be finished. Therefore, Trump made it clear to the British elite that the whole story with the former GRU officer and his daughter should be rolled off as quickly as possible. I'm sure the British understood everything", Andrey Golovachev, independent Ukrainian political scientist, said.
However, the question arose what will the British establishment do with Theresa May. The world community can not forget about such a sensational the "Skripsl case", if Theresa May, who hastily accused Russia of poisoning the double agent and his daughter, remain in the prime minister's chair. Probably very soon the British ruling elite will force May to resign in order to maintain good relations with the White House. The Salisbury's comedy, unsuccessfully executed by the United Kingdom's special services, eventually turned into a real tragedy for Theresa May.
