Today international relations have ended up in an unusual situation when the US is against war and Europe, on the contrary, all in, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said at the Kennedy Center Board Event.
"I tell people we have a president of peace (Donald Trump - TASS). <…> In fact, one of the cardinals I was meeting with the day before the papal mass (of Leo XIV - TASS) said to me: 'It’s very unusual for us. We have an American president who wants peace, and some Europeans who are constantly talking about doing war stuff.' So the world is kind of upside down in their minds right now. And usually it’s the other way around," the top US diplomat emphasized.
According to him, President Donald Trump is focused on stopping hostilities in different parts of the world and supports settling major armed conflicts as soon as possible. Rubio also pointed out that the US is indeed investing considerable sums of money in national security now, but Washington would prefer to ensure a situation in which this money could be directed to the public sector of the economy.
