South Korean Troops to Leave Afghanistan
An official representative of the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said that Seoul starts complete withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan. 5 top-ranking officers of the South Korean Armed Forces left for Kabul on December 7 to coordinate this process with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan.

Seoul declined a USA request to extend the tour of duty of 200 South Korean servicemen in this country and expects to finish withdrawal of the troops before December 14.

In spite of the withdrawal, Seoul intends to take part in international stabilization efforts as a member of civilian groups of reconstruction acting under the supervision of the ISAF, News Service Vzglyad reports.
