On August 15, we witnessed a significant event. In the most complicated emotional and psychological environment the Georgian Diaspora – Union of Georgians in Russia promulgated its Address at a roundtable conference in Moscow. Taking into account a pressure of the Georgian Embassy it is a courageous and very patriotic step of the best representatives of the Georgian people residing in Russia. I am sincere to shake hanks with President of the Union Mikhail Khubutia and all originators of the Address, real patriots of Georgia.
The Address reads: "Georgians in Russia express deep condolences to all family members and relatives, to all Ossetian and Georgian people on the death of peaceful people in South Ossetia, Georgia and on the death of peacekeepers stationed there…We understand the righteous anger in the soul of each honest man and grieve deeply together with you for the killed people… We damn the Georgian leaders who were the most scoundrely and guileful to mount the strike of the lethal weapons on the sleeping city of Tzhinval… We are shameful that such monsters like Saakashvili and his sidekicks were born by Georgian mothers… Early the Georgian public associated light hopes for development of democracy with this man… But we got him wrong. His nice words just concealed the plans of "a small Fuhrer" who made Georgia into the aggressor who today exterminates the Ossetian and Georgian peoples having drawn them into the fratricidal war… If earlier we cherished hopes that we will be able to convince the fraternal Ossetia and Abkhazia peoples to live in one state with us, now we clearly understand that it is impossible". Meanwhile, the document expresses a hope that "the time is a great healer, and the nations of Georgia, Ossetia, Abkhazia and Russia will build their life as good neighbors, that the rulers like Saakashvili will disappear, and we will live as it was earlier in brotherhood, confidence and love".
Believe me, you, there in the State Department and Langley, cannot understand those latent springs that move all ties connecting the nations of the former Soviet Union. Hitler did not understand them either, and it was his gravest fault. Nevertheless we are seeking with the maniacal persistence the same Hitler’s rake to step on it with pleasure. We have sayings: "As you sow, so shall you reap" and "As the fool thinks, so the bell clinks". Choose, please.
All of us - the Russians, Georgians, Azerbaijanians, Armenians, Ukrainians, Kazakhs, Turkmens, Tadjiks and other nations populating today the vast post-Soviet area are interconnected with an invisible strong thread incomprehensible to you.
The time will come, and we all together restore our beautiful Georgia. Of course after you pack your failed project "Saakashvili & Co" and send it by a military air transport back to the USA. And the wise Georgian people sooner or later will compel you to do it. Believe me, ladies and gentlemen. By the way, if I were you, I would hurry up. May be you do not know but Georgia and Ossetia are mountainous countries, and mountainous nations still have such an old anachronism incomprehensible to you as the blood revenge therefore today butcher Saakashvili and his gang have at least 5000 avengers of blood in South Ossetia only. And it is already serious.
You may bite your nails, but we will solve all disputes in the Caucasus, in particular between fraternal Azerbaijan and fraternal Armenia. We will fill in all fighting holes and plant fruit gardens there. No sweat, we’ll make it. Because Russia today is governed by other people. Wise, highly-educated (even higher than your McCain) intellectual, man of decision President Dmitry Medvedev demonstrated to the whole world that Russia now will take care of the Caucasus and will do it successfully. And please, do not stand in our way to avoid the rake hitting your forehead.
You will never understand that in the most difficult hour for us, which may be the happiest hour for you, Russian, Georgian, Azerbaijanian and Armenian may sit together to cancel a bottle of a good Dagestan brandy , embrace each other and sing a song each in his native language but understandable to all of us. Because we are relatives of the same family – the Soviet Union. Ladies and gentlemen, please do not cherish hopes that this feeling will vanish in time, vice versa the farer to the past, the stronger this memory is in the souls of our children and grandchildren.
And finally, let me tell you an old joke:
"Once upon a time two Cossacks with national shapkas and sabers came to a Far Eastern city, Tokyo or Shanghai. Walking in the street. Suddenly a gang of karate fighters got in their way jumping and shouting in their own fashion. One of Cossacks says to them: "It’s not a place to fight. Let’s go round the corner". In a few minutes from there: "Oh! Ah! Boom!" Then Cossack alone appears from round the corner, wipes his saber with his napkin and says: "What fools these karate men! With bare heels against the saber!".
So there, ladies and gentlemen.
