Earlier reports said that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had held a meeting with Russian Ambassador Alexander Chepurin. The president was certain that Putin’s upcoming visit to Serbia would be "the most fruitful in terms of the number and content of bilateral agreements."

According to Vucic, of particular importance for Serbia is the implementation of joint projects in the energy sector, infrastructure, innovative technologies and other areas where the two countries closely cooperate with each other. Moreover, the visit will be a sign of respect for the country and evidence of the traditional friendship between the two countries and their peoples’ brotherhood.
