Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi compared himself to Jesus Christ at a dinner with his followers Saturday night. "I am the Jesus Christ of politics, a victim, patient, I put up with everything, I sacrifice myself for everyone ", said S. Berlusconi.
Parliamentarian Giuseppe Guilietti cracked that "God Father and other family members of Jesus would not have taken that news favorably".
"I live on earth. I don't want to mix up folly with serious things", said deputy P. Cassini, commenting on S. Berlusconi's pronouncements.
Earlier, S. Berlusconi had already compared himself to Napoleon, saying that only the French Emperor had done more for France than himself.
