The FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada has broken the record for goals scored in a single tournament.
A total of 177 goals have been scored at the current World Cup. The previous record was set at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (172).
The World Cup is being held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament, featuring 48 teams for the first time, concludes on July 19. The top two teams in each group and the eight best third-place teams advance to the knockout stage.
Argentina is the current champion.
