US Vice President JD Vance, Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner all urged Vladimir Zelensky to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries, TASS reported citing The New York Times.
"Trump’s main envoys for the Ukraine war, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as well as Mr. Vance, have all asked Mr. Zelensky not to strike Russian oil refineries," the report reads.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources, that Washington had asked Ukraine six times to halt strikes on Russian oil infrastructure since Trump’s meeting with Zelensky on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly High-level Week in September.
