Yuri Kravchenko's suicide note has been published in Kiev. According to the Ukrainian Security Service (USS), Yu Kravchenko was one of the main suspects in the killing of the opposition journalist, Georgi Gongadze.
"My dears, I am not guilty of anything. Pardon me. I have fallen victim of political intrigues of president Kuchma and his retinue. I am leaving you with a clear conscience. Farewell ", the note reads.
With the publishing of this note the standoff between ex-president Leonid Kuchma and the new Ukrainian authorities has moved into a critical phase. USS head, Alexander Tourchinov, has given to understand that his department knows who ordered the killing of journalist Gongadze. However, no names have been named.
