Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who is one of the wealthiest men in Italy, has been confronted with new court action. A court in Milan has brought new corruption charges against him.
S. Berlusconi allegedly bribed a British lawyer, David Mills (who is a propos husband of a Minister in Tony Blaire's cabinet), to give false testimony in a case of a large-scale tax evasion.
The incident in question took place in the 1990s, when Berlusconi was not yet head of Italy's government. At that time he was proprietor of "Fininvest", one of Italy's largest enterprises and parent company of "Mediaset" holding comprising Italy's three main private TV channels.
