Italian law enforcement authorities have opened an investigation in connection with the Spanish newspaper "ABC" and TV channel "TVE" having received fax messages containing threats addressed to the Vatican.
The messages accusing the Vatican of supporting the capitalist countries waging war against Iraq are written in Arabic.
The messages also acclaim the terrorist attacks committed recently in Madrid and London. Both fax messages have been sent to the media offices in Barcelona.
