Iran will not back off from its decision to continue peaceful nuclear research, in spite of the pressure from the West, said Iran's ex-president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
According to Rafsanjani, he was surprised by the West trying to intimidate Iran, considering that it was all happening "in the epoch of democracy, freedom and human rights". He believes "the colonialist and arrogant West is discriminating against the rest of the world and trying to keep it ignorant".
