The second round of parliamentary election has ended in Chile. It is reported to have been won by a woman – candidate of the ruling center-left coalition, Michelle Bachelet.
After 67 percent of ballots have been processed, M. Bachelet is reported to have scored 53.22 percent of the vote. Her rival, conservative candidate Sebastian Pinera, received 46.77 percent. The first turn of the election last December failed to produce an outright winner.
