Ex-director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) Nikolai Kovaliov, who is currently deputy of the Russian State Duma (parliament), has said that two British spies have been arrested in Russia and are giving testimony on the British clandestine operations on Russian territory.
He made this statement in a TV program "Emergencies Weekly", which is scheduled to go on air on NTV Channel tonight. N. Kovaliov said that "two British spies have been arrested, and surely they are not keeping dumb, they are talking".
The British Foreign Office has already requested the Russian side to provide information about reports of the alleged detention of British subjects suspected of espionage. The diplomats have learned about the detention from media sources.
