One more British soldier has been killed in Iraq. The British government has confirmed that a soldier of the UK troop contingent was killed and three more wounded in a bomb explosion in the Iraqi town of Umm Kasr in Basra Province.
The wounded servicemen have been taken to hospital in the town of Shaiba.
The soldier killed in Umm Kasr served the 7th armored brigade. Yesterday this brigade also lost one soldier in a fire exchange with Iraqi resistance forces in Maisan Province.
Thus, over the past two days the British contingent in Iraq lost two servicemen. The total number of British troops killed in Iraq since the invasion of that country has come up to 100.
