The European Union has started developing a new program of inviting labor from other countries, first of all from Russia and Ukraine. Workers of most varied occupations are to be invited.
This measure is caused by the swift aging of European population, while the birth rate in European countries has been steadily going down. In 20 years half of Europe's population will be over 55 years old. This would result in an acute shortage of work force in various sectors of economy.
The demographic crisis has urged the EU to take drastic measures to invite workers from neighboring countries. The people who come to work in the EU countries would get long-term residence permits, and on its expiry they would be obliged to return to their native countries.
