Arab media continue to put forward their versions of the assassination of Lebanese ex-premier Rafik Hariri.
In particular, the Kuwaiti "Al Siyasa" daily has charged Syrian President's brother-in-law, Gen. Asef Shawqat, with organizing the assassination. According to the newspaper, another high-ranking Syrian army officer, Gen. Jemal Said, and also an unnamed Lebanese general aided Gen. Shawqat.
On February 18 Asef Shawqat, the husband of Syrian President's sister, was appointed head of the Syrian military intelligence. While in this position, he would control all Syria's intelligence activities, including those on Lebanese territory where about 15 thousand Syrian troops are stationed. Besides, Gen. Shawqat is Syrian President's security advisor.
