Speaking to journalists in Moscow, Chairman of the Chechen State Council Taus Dzhabrailov said that there were up to 1.5 thousand gunmen operating in Chechnya at present. Out of these, 300-400 are foreign mercenaries, mainly from Arab states.
According to T. Dzhabrailov's information, Maskhadov has only a few gunmen under his command, serving as his bodyguards. "His main force is his financial resources", he said.
