May 23 Michael Chertoff, US National Security head, made a report at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington. As he said, the US is paying much attention to the interaction with Russia in the field of fighting against terrorism, and, according to the data available at his department, Al-Qaeda is keeping in touch with a number of terrorist organizations, including those which pose a threat to Russia.
Speaking of the strengthening of the ties with Europe, M. Chertoff said that the American party was interested in getting a wider access to the information about sea shipping from Europe to the USA.
