As reported by ITAR-TASS, currently there are 21 networks of extremist organizations supplying suicide bombers to Iraq that are operating in European Union countries. Radical Islamic groups have escalated their enrollment of recruits in EU countries to be dispatched to Iraq, where the number of acts of terror committed by European natives has gone up of late.
According to some data, during the past six months Europe has been the scene of the reconstruction of the structures that in the time of the USSR had recruited Islamic volunteers to fight the Soviet troops in Afghanistan.
The EU special services fear the strengthening of the so-called "Afghan effect" among the Moslem population of Europe, whereby the young generation start to take the fight against the US in Iraq as "a matter of honor".
