Head of the Polish president's administration, Waldemar Dubanovski, has said that Polish authorities need not apologize to Moscow for the mugging of Russian schoolboys by Polish skinheads.

He called such a political gesture "superfluous", and the reaction of the Russian leadership "exaggerated". According to W. Dubanovski, nothing extraordinary happened, such things do happen everywhere.

However, Russian politicians do not agree with such an assessment of the incident, and the doctor who examined the beaten schoolboys declined to accept the diagnosis made by her Polish colleagues. She says that two of the victims of the mugging had concussion of the brain of the first degree, all the symptoms have been manifest – vomiting, dizziness, weakness.

Russian charge d'affaires in Poland, Vladimir Sedykh, commenting on the differences in the diagnosis, noted that "most probably, the intention of the Polish physicians was to attenuate to the maximum what has happened". "Causing serious injuries to Russian diplomats' children would invoke quite different, more serious consequences". explained the Russian diplomat.
