Yesterday the remains of Gen. Anton Denikin, renowned Russian philosopher Ivan Ilyin and their spouses had been brought to Moscow. The reburial of the Russian emigrants took place today at the Donskoi Monastery of the capital.
The solemn ceremony at the monastery began with the consecration of the foundation stone of the Memorial to National Reconciliation and Accord by Patriarchy of Moscow and All Russia Alexis II.
The monument - a chapel - will be devoted to the victims of civil unrest and fratricidal strife who died at home and abroad. The Patriarchy served a requiem mass for the Denikins and the Ilyins at the Grand Cathedral of the monastery, after which their remains were solemnly reburied at the cemetery of the Donskoi Monastery.
