The Russian cabinet will discuss the possible supplies of Russian oil brand "Urals" to the US strategic oil reserves. This possibility is mentioned in the documents drawn up for the visit of V. Khristenko, Russian Minister of Industry and Energy, to the USA.
Ministry sources say the new field for the use of the Russian "Urals" petroleum opens up owing to the position taken up by Venezuela who intends to cut down its oil exports to the USA. "Urals" is the main brand of Russian petroleum. Due to its high sulfur content, it can be processed only at certain types of refineries.
