Kirghizian authorities demand that the US administration pay the lease of Manas Air Base in full. This was announced by Kirghizian President Kurmanbek Bakiyev in the capital of Bishkek on November 2.
"Our data on the US expenses in connection with the lease of the air base of the anti-terrorist coalition on the territory of Bishkek Airport differ from those of the USA", said K. Bakiyev, adding that a new draft agreement is being drawn up, requesting the USA to raise the lease amount.
"Since the air base was first leased out, prices on most commodities went up in Kirghizia", explained the Kirghizian President. "The American side should pay the lease of every square meter of land at world rates", he said.
Bilateral talks on the lease of the coalition air base are to open in Bishkek on November 4.
