Georgian officials have announced that the official institution of the so-called "anti-Russian axis" would take place at the international forum "Community of Democratic Choice" supposed to meet Thursday and Friday in Kiev. According to head of the Georgian presidential administration G. Arveladze, the setting-up of such an alliance would allow "democratic countries" to exit the zone of Russian influence.

Presidents of Georgia, Ukraine, Moldavia, Baltic states and some Balkan countries are expected to attend the Kiev forum. Leaders of the OSCE and the Council of Europe may also turn up.

In experts' opinion, it is for the first time since the end of the "cold war" that a political alliance is being set up in Europe targeted against a UN co-founder state and permanent member of the UN Security Council. Curiously, the leading role in the "anti-Russian axis" is to be played by those CIS countries which are debtors of the Russian Federation, defiantly refuse to pay back their debts in a civilized manner and have chosen a policy of blackmail and threats in relations with Moscow.
