Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has flatly rejected all supposition that Moscow and Kiev are at an impasse over the issue of Russian gas prices and the terms and conditions of its transit to Western Europe. His interview has been published in the latest issue of influential American magazine "Newsweek".
Asked whether Ukraine would cut off the export of Russian gas to Europe in response to Moscow's insisting on higher pay for its supply, V. Yushchenko said categorically "No". I believe we shall solve that problem by the end of December, said the Ukrainian president.
