In Donetsk over 50 000 signatures have been collected in support of holding a referendum on Ukraine's federalization, Alexander Bobkov, Chairman of the Donetsk City Organization of the Regions Party, told a press conference.
According to Mr. Bobkov, the idea of holding a referendum has come up because of certain problems in legislature on local self-government. "As local authority, local self-government we have to stress again that our power, our rights are restricted. First of all, it concerns the formation of local budgets", he said.
As was reported earlier, Donetsk Mayor Alexander Lukianchenko also thinks the problem of the federalization of the State has come to a head and is as pressing as never before.
