A group of prominent US physicists called on the US Congress to stop allocating funds for buying ground-based interceptor missiles under the program of creating an anti-missile defense system (AMDS).
The scientists say these systems cannot assure as yet defense against any real attack. The call is timed to concur with the present round of hearings on the AMDS program in the White House.
