S. Ivanov: Russia Sells Weapons and Military Equipment to 76 Countries of the World

The Russian Minister of Defense said in an interview that Russia is engaged in military-technical cooperation with 76 countries of the world.

"At the head of the list are India and China", emphasized S. Ivanov. "Last year the total amount of our military exports exceeded $5.7 billion".

According to the Russian Minister of Defense, all decisions on the delivery of weapons are taken at a high government level after a careful consideration.

"No contract can be executed in the detriment of Russia's national security. This principle has been clearly defined in the Concept of the state policy in the field of military-technical cooperation of the Russian Federation with foreign states during the period of up to 2010. Besides, arms exports are a substantial additional source of currency earnings for the country's budget", pointed out S. Ivanov.
